The University Athletics Club has a wide variety of members including former Indiana University athletes and those pursuing a spot on the Varsity team.  The UAC also has a number of runners that have never competed formally for a team; some have just taken up running as a hobby in college.

In 2005, the UAC competed in the University’s annual Little Fifty running race.  The club boasted five men’s teams and two women’s teams all placing among the top ten.  The club was victorious in both the men’s and women’s races.  The UAC repeated the honors in 2006, with club members taking home the crown in both the men's and women's races.

The UAC competed in the second annual MC5 (Midwest Club Cross Country Championships) taking third in the team race and holding top honors individually.  The UAC also swept the awards at a historical half marathon in Carmel, IN in the spring 2005 (Sam Costa).  Members claimed the overall championship and two age group championships.

In 2005, three members qualified for and competed in the 2005 Boston Marathon; that number doubled in 2006.

The club’s faculty advisor recently qualified for the Boston Marathon by way of the Country Music Marathon in Tennessee.

Members have also competed in the following:

· Chicago, New York City, Marine Corp, and Grandma’s Marathons

· Indianapolis and Louisville Half Marathons

· IU indoor and outdoor track meets

· Butler outdoor track meets

· Indianapolis, Bloomington, and Valparaiso area 5k-15k road races

This coming year, 2006-07, the UAC will compete in the first ever collegiate club cross country nationals (Finished 5th).  Considering our front runners and depth, we expect to do very well.
