The Indiana University Design Standards were prepared to assist design consultants to understand and meet University expectations.  These standards also assist in the preparation of consulting fees and project specifications that meet University requirements from the outset.

Please review this site often for updates to the Standards.

Engineering Consultant Design Deliverables (4/2006)

6/1/2007 – for any new A/E contracts initiated as of 6/1/2007, the contract area under Reimbursable Expenses has been changed to now eliminate any printing cost items. All printing for project needs will now be done through IU's Centralized Printing Vendor (Eastern Engineering) with all printing costs billed directly to Indiana University. Also changed in the A/E contracts is the professional photography section that now eliminates the 35mm color slides and further refines the digital photography format.

For those contracts initiated between 2/19/2007 and 5/31/2007 – the contract area under Reimbursable Expenses entitled “Printing Costs for Drawings and Specifications” has been changed. There no longer is a requirement for the first 10 or 25 sets (pending project cost) of the bid document printing costs to be paid by the A/E consultants. All bid document printing is now to be coordinated and produced by Indiana University’s Centralized Printing Vendor and distributed for bidding online at http://www.iuplanroom.com. All other project drawings and specification printing expenses still need prior Owner approval before reimbursables may be submitted.
