Other member services are also making good progress:
The membership and publicity committees are working cooperatively to attract new members, give existing members involvement opportunities, and publicize the exciting breadth and depth of the club's activities. Send the names of member prospects and of ideas for recruiting and involving members to the club office.
Karen Whiteside, Sharon Woodhouse, and Suzanne Phillips represented the club at The Big Ten University League Conference at the University of Wisconsin at Madison on June 5, 6, and 7. They provided an interesting Power Point report of the excellent conference and have lots of good ideas that will be integrated into the U Club operations during the year.
Kate Kroll reported for the house committee that the main floor women's rest room is now more disabled friendly, thanks to some bright ideas of club manager Aspy. Kate also reported that the change in member's use of keys to the access the club rooms at any time has been deferred.
The social hour honoring retiring Dean of Students Richard McKaig was very successful; the club has asked the IMU to operate the social hour in the Faculty Room every Thursday evening in the fall semester. Programmatic activities during these social hours are planned.
I look forward to joining you for the many activities the University Club will present during the 2009 - 10 year.
