Dining Out

The Dining Out group is open to any single person or any couple who would like to enjoy an evening out for dinner at a local restaurant with other University Club members. Any University Club member can join this group at any time! Just e-mail Lu. The group has only one RULE and that is to e-mail or call at least on week before the event with a YES or a NO. I will PHONE anyone on our list who has not replied. Your cooperation makes this group an easy and fun group to plan for!

We usually meet on the Fourth Sunday of every month except July and August. We do adjust the date when a major holiday falls very close to the Fourth Sunday.

In general (but not etched in stone) the criteria for selecting restaurants is:

Restaurants that are not part of a national chain
Restaurants that will seat us in small groups of six or eight
Restaurants that will allow us to order from the regular menu
Restaurants that will give us separate checks for couples or singles.

The Dining Out Group has been going strong since 2002 and the Group has only repeated a few restaurants. (view the list at the bottom of this page) We are are a fun group to social with! Come Join us!

There have been few exceptions from these general rules. On occasion we have had a special meal at a restaurant or cooking school that has opened for us on a Sunday when they are usually closed. On these occasions we have had a set price meal with a limited menu or set menu. On these occasions you are responsible for paying if you do not show up and have made a reservation. AND in June we have had a Pitch-In Picnic at someone's home.

The group often meets at one of the members' homes one hour and a half before the dinner reservation to visit and get to know each other. Simple snacks will be served with the option of wine, beer or a soft drink.
