"An Evening with Hoagy"
Hoagy Carmichael, a much honored graduate of Indiana University, a performer and prolific composer, wrote more than 1,000 tunes during his lifetime ranging from light jazz, blues, ballads - winning an Oscar for "In the Cool, Cool, Cool of the Evening."
Can't Get Hoagy Off My Mind, the fourth CD from pianist Bob Williams, Indiana '56, features "Lazy River," "Georgia on My Mind," Skylark," "Small Fry," "The Nearness of You" and "Stardust" among others.
Williams, at the piano, has had successful club dates in New York City, Chicago, Washington DC and Indianapolis, as well as on liners and venues from Greece, The Netherlands and England to Hungary, the Czech Republic, Spain and Portugal.
Added membership is a high priority goal as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the University Club's founding. Members can help in this important activity by inviting friends to attend the July, September or October programs. Guests who become members at one of these programs will be the guest of the Club for that event and if the guest has paid, the fee will be reimbursed within two weeks.
