A Tour of the University Club

University Club manager, Sheila Remer, takes your reservation for University Club events or room reservations. University Club members, alumni, IU faculty, IU departments, community members, visitors to Bloomington, businesses, corporations, and other educational institutions can rent the meeting rooms. Club Lobby, Manager's Office and the Presidents' Room are located on the first floor.

Location

The University Club of Indiana is located in the Indiana Memorial Union on the first and second floors. Indiana Memorial Union located at 900 E. Seventh St., Bloomington, IN 47405.

The University Club Lobby

Members and guests are greeted by a host or hostess. The entry to the University Club's Rooms is a bright welcoming room that leads to the President's Room, the Manager's Office or the staircase to the Faculty Room, Library, Reading Room, and Pool Room.

The Presidents' Room

The Presidents' Room accommodates up to 100 people for a stand up reception and 64 for a buffet meal using seven round tables of eight and two party of four tables. It can be set up with chairs for presentations or tables for dining.

The University Club is a perfect setting for a small wedding.

The Prisident's Room The Prisidents' Room The Prisidents' Room
This is a beautifully appointed room with tasteful decor and wonderful paintings to add to the ambiance of the room. It is a room which works well for club meetings, receptions, presentations, weddings, and celebrations.

The President's Room.

The Presidents' Room has cozy corner seating arrangements for small groups to relax and have conversations. It also has larger groupings of couches, side chairs and tables. In one corner there is a grand piano that can be used for special occasions.

The room has space to set up chairs for presentations, or for card tables or large round tables for serving food. The Buffet table can be decorated for any occasion and side serving tables can also be set up. Food can be brought in or ordered from the IMU Catering Service. IMU Catering works with any group to prepare a menu suitable to the occasion.

The Faculty Room

The Faculty Room is located upstairs. It is a large room with several conversation areas arranged with couches and chairs. The room is large enough for serving groups meals or refreshments. The small kitchen helps set up for serving. Events can be catered by IMU Food Service or food can be prepared at home and brought in to serve.

The space at the top of the stairs serves as a reception area for welcoming guests or members. The faculty Room accommodates up to 75 people.

The Faulty Room is a large room with several seating areas, banquet table and space for additional tables or lecture style seating or left open for stand up events.

 

University Club Kitchens

There are small kitchens on each floor of the University Club. Both have refrigerators, microwave ovens,and coffeemakers. The downstairs kitchen has a dishwasher.

The Library

The Library is located upstairs. It is a small room off the Faculty Room which has comfortable seating and books to read or borrow. Members often bring their own books and read in a quiet corner at the club. The room may be booked for small meetings.

The library has a couch or chairs for reading, or a table for card playing. Members can also surf the web on one of the University Club's computers.

The Reading Room

The Reading Room is located upstairs. It is a small room off the hallway behind the kitchen which has comfortable seating to sit and read. A very quiet and cozy room where members come to read or relax.

Even the University Club Webmaster has to take a break once in a while! Here we see Lu Cregar caught by Louray Cain who confiscated the Uclub's digital camera and started shooting.

The Reading Room has a couch and comfortable chairs for reading, and a coffee table filled with current magazines for browsing. The room has plenty of lamps for good reading light. It one of the University Club's best kept secret hide-a-ways!

The Pool Room

The Pool Room which is available for members, is located upstairs. It features all the necessary equipment to play pool! Members play pool on a regular basis. Enjoying a good game is one way to start off the day.
