TRIPS and OUTINGS

All University Club members are
welcome to participate in all trips and outings..

The following trips are being offered to University Club members and their guests. Contact the University Club office at 855-1325 or email:uclub@indiana.edu. All reservations and payments MUST be made prior to the trips. Checks are to be made out to the University Club. All trips depart and return to the Circle Drive at Meadowood.

Trips and Outings Offered through Meadowood

Trip to Wilmington / Brandywine
• November 30 – December 7, 2009
Stay at the Inn at Mendenhall (PA), in New Castle, original capitol of Delaware. See Spirit of Christmas, followed by Christmas in Odessa. Two days are devoted to DuPont ~ visit the Hagley Museum, Nemours Mansion, and Yuletideat Winterthur Museum & Country Estate, including Tea Time at Winterthur and a tour of Montchanin Village.
In Philadelphia, take the QVC Tour, tour Rockwood Mansion, Independence Hall & National Historical Park, then dinner at City Tavern. At Brandywine, visit the Brandywine River Museum (Chadds Ford), Brandywine Battlefield, and Longwood Gardens Christmas (Kennett Sq.).
Includes Meadowood motor coach transportation, escort, 7 nights lodging, baggage assistance, 7 breakfasts, 3 dinners, 1 lunch, 14 tours. Members $1370 double and $1,900 single. Nonmembers add $50. Additional meals charged back.

Rejoice! at Clowes Hall
Saturday, Dec 12
Departs 5:00 PM from Meadowood Circle Drive
Rejoice! is Butler University’s annual gift to the community.
Price of $20 for members; $22 non-members includes box lunch, tickets and transportation. We will drive through downtown Indianapolis on the way home to enjoy the Christmas lights on the Circle.

Overnight Trip to French Lick Springs Hotel
•Wednesday, Dec 16—Departs 9:00 AM from Meadowood Circle Dr.
It’s a Wonderful Life, one of the greatest stories of the season will come to life in the Windsor Ballroom! Guests will enjoy lunch and tour at West Baden Springs Hotel, $5 complementary gaming pass at the French Lick Casino, overnight accommodations at the historically restored French Lick Resort, tickets to the dinner show; and breakfast the next morning at The Grand Colonnade Restaurant.
Price of $190 for members; $205 for non-members; includes transportation, taxes, gratuities and luggage handling. Return, Thursday, Dec 17th at noon.

Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra Yuletide Celebration
•Sunday, Dec 20—Departs 12:15 PM from Meadowood Circle Drive
Music Director Jack Everly leads a spectacular performance with tap dancing Santas and flying reindeer, plus some new surprises. Grammy winner Maureen McGovern will host. Price of $60 for members; $65 for non -members; includes main floor seats and transportation.

Historic Savannah & Charleston
• April 17-25, 2010
After one night in Ashville, NC, we will visit beautiful Charleston, Savannah, Beaufort and St. Helena Island Enjoy tours of Biltmore Estate, Middleton Place and Boone Hall Plantation; visits to landscaped gardens and historic homes. Cruise historic Charleston Harbor and learn about Fort Sumter; and eat lunch at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel, the exclusive hunting club of the Morgans and Rockefellers. Step back in time and discover the traditions of St. Helena Island’s African-American culture on the Gullah Tour. Visit the Mercer Williams House in Savannah, setting of the book Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil – and much more! Dine on classic Southern cuisine, as well as fresh seafood and low country fare.
Includes Meadowood bus transportation, 8 nights lodging, 22 tours, tour guides, 9 breakfasts, 2 lunches and trip escort. Additional meals charged back. Price is $1,605 per, double; and $2,405 single. Guests add $50. A deposit of $300 will save your place.
