Training Seminars

You should have received your January/February 2007 Training and Development calendar listing all the current offerings. Or you can go to the Training web site and browse. There are several new sessions this semester such as “Crucial Conversations” – a book discussion (G525), and lots of your old favorites like “Proofreading is an Art” (G517) and “Give ‘em the Pickle” (G205).

Don’t forget to register for the Spring 2007 Support Conference
Red Hot, Student-Focused Service
Facilitated by Brenda Bailey-Hughes and Tatiana Kolovou.

On college campuses across the country people are focusing on service, service, service. Universities are using service, as much as academics, to recruit and retain students. Who are our customers and what can we do to meet the needs of this demanding, fast moving, and ever-multitasking population? Attend this seminar to join the discussion of these important questions.

Join us this year for an Annual Support Staff Seminar Day that promises to make you think and connect! Our co-facilitators, Brenda Bailey-Hughes and Tatiana Kolovou, are coming back to their old stomping grounds of Employee and Organizational Development with some tried and true expertise of working with the undergraduate student body as lecturers in the Kelley School of Business.

Whether you serve students or work side-by-side with them, this day is designed to help you understand exactly what today’s students expect, who they are, and what customer service looks like through their eyes. You will get a chance to walk in their shoes, share ideas, and develop new ones. Most of all, you will get a chance to network with staff from all across campus and spend the day in beautiful McCormick’s Creek State Park while building effectiveness skills for your job.

Block April 27, 2007 as a Professional Development Day on Red Hot, Student-Focused Service. We’ll see you there! There is a fee of $55 (fee includes meals and course materials and may be charged to the departmental account or paid by personal check to Indiana University).
