JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for overseeing the smooth, efficient, and correct performance of position duties of a crew of 4+ employees working in a specific area of expertise.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the foreman, coordinates activities of workers. Directs and leads workers and assigns duties. Inspects jobs for use of proper procedures and timely completion.
Estimates, orders material, and schedules jobs with the assistance of the foreman.
Performs duties of the area of expertise. (See job specifications for area(s) of expertise).
Performs other general building maintenance as assigned.
Drives vehicle as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools used to perform job duties.
Ability to operate the specific tools used in the area of expertise, including related tools and equipment.
Ability to operate a personal computer. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and MMS software.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High school diploma or GED
Experience: Five years experience in area of expertise, preferably at Indiana University Bloomington
Required Certifications/Licenses: Valid driver’s license
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sitting, standing, walking, driving, climbing ladders, squatting/kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending, lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs. multiple times per shift, fingering, talking, hearing, and seeing.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Equal amount of time spent indoors and outdoors, possible exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures for one hour plus. Possible exposure to distracting/uncomfortable noise levels and vibration of body or extremities. Risk of bodily injury from mechanical parts, electricity, etc. Possible exposure to fumes, odors, etc. that may affect respiration and skin.
