JOB TITLE AND GRADE: Pool Operator/Preventative Maintenance Worker / SM0Q

JOB PURPOSE:

Maintains swimming pool water quality by testing weekly and cleaning pool components. Maintains water purification system at Bradford Woods. Maintains outdoor fountains.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains swimming pool water quality by testing weekly and cleaning pool components.

Maintains water purification system at Bradford Woods.

Maintains outdoor fountains.

Cleans water filters using hose, vacuum, and power washer.

Tests water quality in pools and water systems using water test kit.

Adds chemicals to feeders as needed.

Cleans outdoor fountains and strainers.

Vacuums pools using pool vacuum.

Drains pools when needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Ability to use basic hand tools, lubrication equipment, meters, electric hand tools, water tester, pool vacuum, power washer, and water test kits.

Ability to use lock-out/tag-out.

Ability to use basic hand tools.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High school diploma or GED

Experience: Two years experience in related area

Required Certifications/Licenses: Valid driver’s license

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Sitting, standing, walking, driving, climbing/ladders, squatting/kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending, lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs multiple times per shift, fingering, talking, hearing, and seeing.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Spends time both indoors and outdoors with possible exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures for one hour plus. Possible exposure to distracting/uncomfortable noise levels. Risk of bodily injury from mechanical parts, electricity, etc. Possible exposure to fumes, odors, etc. that may affect respiration and skin.
