JOB TITLE AND GRADE: Team Lead II / SMOL

JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible for overseeing the smooth, efficient, and correct performance of position duties of 4+ employees working in a specific area of expertise.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Schedules, assigns, and monitors work of staff.

Serves as on-site trainer to explain work procedures and to demonstrate use and care of equipment.

Acts as project leader for routine and non-routine work. Reviews and executes work orders.

Substitutes for absent staff or group leaders in the department.

Inspects jobs for use of proper procedures and timely completion.

Performs duties of the area of expertise. (See job specifications for area(s) of expertise).

Drives vehicle as needed.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Some knowledge of effective supervisory techniques.

Ability to interpret and follow oral and written instructions.

Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools used to perform job duties.

Ability to operate the specific tools used in the area of expertise, including related tools and equipment.

Ability to operate a personal computer. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and MMS software.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High school diploma or GED

Experience: Two years experience in area of expertise

Required Certifications/Licenses:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Standing, walking, driving, climbing/ladders, squatting/kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending, lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs multiple times per shift, fingering, talking, hearing, and seeing.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Equal amounts of time spent indoors and outdoors with possible exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures for one hour plus. Possible exposure to distracting/uncomfortable noise levels and vibration of body or extremities. Risk of bodily injury from mechanical parts, electricity, etc. Possible exposure to fumes, odors, etc. that may affect respiration and skin.
