Job Purpose
This is clerical work performing a variety of tasks to receive and process payments and refunds for department according to established policies, procedures, and guidlines.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

Operates cash register; collects and processes all fees and charges received by department; reconciles balances; prepares deposits.
Processes all cash receipt vouchers received by department, reconciles them with currency, and complete required validation.
Verifies and processes all cash receipt vouchers received for advance deposits; maintains record of activity on daily balance sheet.
Monitors registers to ensure that adequate levels of cash are available for daily functions and peak periods.
Answers all incoming questions regarding program fees; answers phone and refers to appropriate office or individual.
Processes Teller balance sheets, reimburses teller drawers as needed, and maintains records of fluctuations in funds needed to balance drawer.
Monitors supplies and forms, and maintains inventory and records.
Advances funds to other stations as needed for petty cash, special events, peak times, and emergencies; maintains records of advances and updates as funds are repaid.
Trains any outside department personnel used in procedures for preparing and completing deposits.
Assists in maintaining integrity of security system.
May perform specialized duties particular to individual department fee generating activities such as monitoring reservation process, processing invoices, and monitoring use of facility or equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Keyboard and calculator skills.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work well with wide range of people.
Ability to quickly and accurately count currency and coin in cashiering transactions.
Ability to balance a cash drawer.
Minimum Requirements
-
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Experience: Six months to one year retail experience.
