Job Purpose
This complex technical and administrative work performing a variety of tasks related to maintaining department's databases.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Manages and maintains storage and software as needed; ensures data integrity by coordinating and logging data exchanges.
Writes, reviews, and debugs database software code for data manipulation; assists users with research and data analysis questions.
Provides technical support to department on hardware and software questions.
Trains and oversees data entry personnel; assigns tasks; monitors and evaluates job performance; serves as resource on technical questions.
Develops procedures and policies on data management issues.
Develops training materials.
Maintains awareness of new technologies; researches and evaluates technological advances; develops and maintains new resources.

Knowledge of database software and data modeling techniques.

Minimum Requirements
Education: Associates degree in computer science or closely related field. Directly related work experience may be substituted at a ratio of two years of progressively more responsible experience for each year of education.
Experience: One year of computer/database programming experience.
