Job Purpose

This is technical work performing a variety of tasks related to maintaining a department's computer production.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

Oversees and maintains workload produced on computer; establishes, schedules, and submits job stream parameter information; adjusts control files; assigns and controls data batch numbers; ensures that all input is entered into the computer before computer production begins.

Maintains production scheduling for large data processing reports and queries submissions performed on mainframe systems.

Performs trouble shooting and problem determination diagnostics; initiates corrective action.

Monitors and manages data files to ensure space availability; performs allocations, migrations, and archiving.

Creates, tests, and maintains production standards; reviews output reports; modifies procedures to ensure compliance with internal standards.

Consults with costumers regarding needs and goals; serves as liaison between customers and staff.

Assist with the daily backup of system files.

Assists with the testing, evaluation, and implementation of new software.

Minimum Requirements

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Experience: Two years data processing experience.
