Job Purpose
This is technical work performing a variety of complex tasks related to the development and delivery of information and graphics via the World Wide Web.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Consults with various department personnel, such as writers, graphic designers, managers, and administrators, to design, develop and implement World Wide Web pages and interactive information delivery systems.
Coordinates the maintenance and updating of existing Web pages, checks and maintains links; monitors Web sites for consistency, cross-referencing, and compliance with university standards for Web site content and design.
Trains, advises, and consults with various personnel regarding Web page design, development, and maintenance; assists users with the development and delivery of instructional materials and methods for the web.
Conducts electronic marketing of services and information; disseminates information to various Web search engines; performs research, linking, and posting of Web information and delivery; consults with users regarding electronic marketing strategies.
Oversees and coordinates the use of and response to Web site email; corresponds with senders or refers email to appropriate individuals; maintains records and develops reports on Web site email activity.
Designs Web site to maximize accessibility, usability, and effectiveness; utilizes search engines and maximizes users' ability to search site content.
Integrates database and application software into Web site design to increase site effectiveness; gathers, organizes, and disseminates incoming data and information.
Develops systems and procedures to track, analyze and report on Web site activity; recommend changes to systems, procedures, and outreach activities based upon Web site activity analysis.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of hypertext markup language programming techniques and protocols.
Knowledge of database and software applications.
Problem solving skills.

Ability to work well with a wide range of people.
Ability to conceptualize, develop, and organize Web based graphical information.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Associates degree in computer science or closely related field. Directly related work experience may be substituted at a ratio of two years of progressively more responsible experience for each year of education.
Experience: Two years of experience working with a computer information systems.
