R. David Vernon, with Craig Stewart and Douglas Grover, published "Changing (Almost) Everything and Keeping (Almost) Everyone Happy," in CAUSE/Effect 21:39-46.

Brian D. Voss reports that the UITS Knowledge Base was named a "Cool Site" by Netscape and recognized by Windows Magazine as one of the top technical support sites on the Web. The KB received top honors at the Southwest Ohio Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication. As "Distinguished Technical Communication" and "Best of Show," the KB is the US entry in the STC International Competition. In April 1998, the Coalition for Networked Information (CNI), through its Institution-Wide Information Strategies (IWIS) project, recognized UITS as a "Best Practices" site for the Leveraged Support Model. Voss presented a session on the Leveraged Support Model at the CNI meeting, Washington, DC, April 1998. With Jill Schunk of IUB Purchasing, Voss presented a talk on Institutional Software Licensing and Standards, EduCAUSE'98, in Seattle, Washington. With colleagues from UC-Davis, he provided a pre-conference, half-day workshop on Supporting Distributed Support Providers.
