Gaining access to the IU network at data rates greater than 56 Kbps is rapidly becoming a priority for many members of the IU community. Up to three ISP/vendor provided alternatives have become available in some IU campus locations. These “advanced remote access” technologies include cable modems, DSL service, and satellite Internet services. It is the goal of the Telecommunications Division of UITS to facilitate access to and use of these advanced methods for remote access as an important alternative to traditional telephone modem dialup.
