Data circuit cost - there are two components to the circuit: an Ameritech-provided
T1 between the Greek house and Ameritech's central office, and a UITS-provided
T1 channel between the Ameritech central
office and the IU campus.
- The Ameritech provided T1 costs approximately $1,000 to install
plus $190 per month, and will be billed by Ameritech.
- The UITS provided T1 channel costs $50 per month, and will be billed
annually by UITS via account transfer through The Student Activities
Office account numbers to the individual house, and via account transfer
for the none general funded IU organizations.
Equipment/Maintenance Costs:
Router Costs - (including configuration and installation), has a one-time
cost of approximately $3,000. The router has a prorated annual SmartNet
maintenance cost of approximately $125. Ameritech will bill router and
maintenance costs for the Greek houses. UITS will bill router and maintenance
costs via account transfer for none general funded IU organizations.
Administrative Costs:
The Student Activities Office charges $50.00 annually to setup and
maintain the Student Activities account numbers for each individual
Greek house. This fee goes to a scholarship fund.
