Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) is fully supported by UITS and is the
only means for connecting to the 278-5620, 278-5621, and 856-5619 modem
pools. PPP is the Internet standard for transporting native protocols
over serial links and is analogous to Ethernet over serial lines.
UITS supports PPP implementations for DOS, Windows (95, 98, NT,
and 2000) and Mac OS. The UWSG also supports PPP implementations for
Linux.
UITS does not support SLIP.
