Our basic mode of service to the end user on the IUPUI campus is
switched Ethernet to the datajack in the office, dorm room, or public
area.

Buildings are connected to the campus backbone
utilizing switched Ethernet technology and fiber optic cable. Where
fiber is not available, buildings are connected via a T1 (1.544 Mbps)
serial link. |

Internet via a DS3 (45Mbs) link. |
| Remote
Access Modem Pool |
Modems are available to students,
faculty, and staff at speeds up to 56Kps for dial-up access. |
| Wireless
Network Support |
Network Services provides consultation,
installation and operational support of wireless access-points for
university departments. |
| Intercampus
Connectivity |
Telecommunication Data/Video engineers maintain
operational support of the Wide Area Network (WAN) comprising of 2
core and 6 regional campuses. |
| DHCP Services |
DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) is a network
protocol that enables a DHCP server to automatically assign an IP
address to an individual computer's TCP/IP stack software. |
