UITS Communications OfficeThe Communications Office (CO) promotes and reports on the Indiana University Information Technology (IT) environment for the IU community and for local, national, and international audiences in education, research, government,business, and industry. As a part of the Office for the Vice President for Information Technology (OVPIT) and in service to University Information Technology Services (UITS), the CO develops and implements integrated communications for long-term strategic campaigns, IT news, user awareness and education, and new IT products and services. Working with partners and stakeholders in UITS, across the university, in business, and in education, the CO ensures IU's IT messages reach state, national, and international media via an integrated mix of multimedia, print and online publications, and conferences and events. The office co-authors professional journal articles for such organizations as EDUCAUSE and the Society for Technical Communication (STC). Staff memberships include the CIC-IT Communicators Group; EDUCAUSE; STC; ACM SIGUCCS, the ACM special-interest group for university IT support staff; and the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). |
