Maximum PTO Policy

UITS policy states that staff cannot claim more than 40 hours of PTO in a single week -- even if their regularly scheduled hours exceed that amount. In other words, if an employee takes PTO in a week when they are scheduled to work over 40 hours, they can only claim up to 40 hours of PTO.

However, employees are still welcome to work additional time (on top of the 40 hours of PTO) up to their regularly scheduled hours. UITS will pay for those hours at their regular (not overtime) rate, per IU policy AFSCME (IUB, IUPUI, IUSB) 6.2; CWA 5.3; PA/SS 4.4; Hourly 4.2 D.2.c
