VU Financial Reporting Application
Preparing a Print Image Report
Unlike the Interactive
Query Results, this data is static and no drilldown options are available.
Data is reported at the object code or sub object code detail level, depending
on options chosen on the Selection Form.
<top>
By default, the report is generated at the summary level.
That means a single report is created summarizing all of the chosen account/sub
account combinations. Optionally, a detail report can be generated by
selecting the All Detail radio button near the top left of the form and pressing
the Refresh button. The Refresh button is only active is the consolidation
level option has been changed. Choosing a detail report will generate a
separate report foe each selected account/sub account combination, followed by a
summary report <top>
A report can be sent to a printer by pressing the Print button, the topmost button along the left side of the form. A print dialog is displayed allowing options such as printer setup, print preview, print to a file, as well as the option to send the report to a printer.
To send to the default printer, select the Printer radio button and press the OK button. No additional information should be required, the report should automatically print in landscape orientation and be correctly formatted to the fit standard letter size paper.
To change the printer or printer properties, press the Setup button and use the Print Setup dialog box. To preview the report, select the Preview radio button and press the OK button.
To save the report to a
file, select the File radio button, choose a file format from the dropdown
Format list, type a file name in the edit box provided (or utilize the Save As
dialog box accessible by clicking on the diskette icon to the rght of the edit
box), and then press the OK button to save the file. The Save button
displays the same dialog box as the Print button.

Exporting to Word:
Press the Word button on the left of the form to export report data directly to Microsoft Word. This will launch the Microsoft Word application (if it is not already active) and create a new document with a default name such as Document1, Document2, etc. The new document is the report image formatted for printing. The file can then be saved in Word format, edited, printed, etc.
Keep in mind that when
Word is launched, it may appear to be blocked by other open applications on your
desktop. You may have to use ALT_TAB to scroll through open applications
to find it, or use the windows taskbar at the bottom of the desktop to switch to
Word. <top>
Report data can be exported to the clipboard, to be pasted into another application. The Clipboard button on the left of the screen will select all of the report data and place it on the clipboard, so that it can be pasted into notepad, Word, or any other application that can accept clipboard data. The data will be exported as rows of text strings, which may be acceptable for some purposes, the data may not be formatted ideally for all applications. If your intention is to export to Word, use the feature specifically for that purpose for best formatting results. To export to Excel, export from the Interactive Query Results form, so that numeric results can be placed properly in spreadsheet cells.
Optionally, any portion of the print image data can be highlighted by selecting it with the mouse, and exported to the clipboard by pressing CTL-C to copy. This could be useful if you wish to copy a single number into Excel or a calculator application. <top>
