Accounting Representative - SSOF

Description and Responsibilities:
Responsible for accounts payable and accounts reconciliation in the finance office. Serves as resource person, working closely with University Information Technology Services management staff, reconciles financial statements, investigates and resolves differences while assuming leadership role for determining impact of new IU policies and procedures. Implements procedures and has primary responsibility for policy/procedures manual. Leads systems design, development, and subsequent training of staff in new tools and applications. Responds to inquiries regarding personnel policies, procedures, and/or payroll status. Serves as resource person and interprets payroll and IU personnel policies. Supports and serves as back-up to the Capital Asset Coordinator.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED and two years accounting experience required. Thorough knowledge of accounting/bookkeeping procedures and experience using spreadsheets and database software needed. Excellent communication and organization skills necessary. Ability to work independently and to maintain confidentiality in a professional, diplomatic, and customer service-oriented manner required. Expertise in IU financial tools (FDRS, FIS, FAMS, BARS, TOPS) and understanding of policies and procedures surrounding externally funded accounts (C&G, IU Foundation, etc.) strongly preferred.
