Administrative Coordinator - SS0F
Description and Responsibilities:
Serves as the primary coordinator of administrative functions in support of REN-ISAC (Research and Education Networking Information Sharing and Analysis Center) services and business. Coordinates and processes memberships; assists in issue/conflict resolution; coordinates Membership Committee activities; and organizes and oversees new member orientation processes. Develops membership marketing materials; coordinates member volunteers; and executes commercial partnership programs. Oversees and coordinates membership billing; coordinates events including selecting venues, drafting program schedule, making speaker arrangements, coordinating social events, etc.; and manages the Center's web presence. Manages the Center's budget; prepares financial reports; makes travel arrangements for staff and visitors; and serves as a liaison between the Center and University administrative departments.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED and three years office experience.
Possess a very high degree of professionalism and be able to exhibit that in written, verbal, and in-person communications; and possess a high standard of integrity and discretion. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple tasks; and excellent written and oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills, in order to work effectively with REN-ISAC member representatives, prospective members, and product and service customers throughout the US and English-speaking countries. Possess knowledge of basic accounting and finance practices; an ability and enthusiasm to understand the broad picture of the REN-ISAC mission, how it maps to the needs of the served community, products and services offered, and to understand and anticipate needs of the community; and ability to conduct topical research utilizing the web.
Ability to articulate an in-depth understanding of a complex organization, and its products and services; ability to .sell. the value of an organization to non-members; and possess advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, including the ability to create and manipulate complex spreadsheets and documents.
Preferred: Bachelor degree in Communications, Computer Science, or related field. Experience in an environment with a high degree of public contact via phone, e-mail, and in person; and experience using University systems such as Travel@IU, EPIC, etc. Ability to create Microsoft Access databases with forms; experience creating content in wikis (Atlassian Confluence); ability to write web pages in HTML, and use web-authoring content management systems to create and maintain web pages; and office management experience.
Note: This position will require some travel.
Other: The REN-ISAC aids and promotes cybersecurity in the higher education and research communities. Security intelligence provided by REN-ISAC is used in operational security protections and response by the more than 360 member institutions, including colleges and universities (international), teaching hospitals, research and education network providers, and US government research laboratories. In addition to services provided to members, certain services are provided to the US higher education community, regardless of membership, including engagement in response to critical incidents affecting individual institutions or of national scope. Additionally, REN-ISAC is engaged with a select commercial organization to make security technical and awareness training available to the entire US higher education community at discounted pricing. Member institutions are represented in REN-ISAC by CIOs, Information Security Officers, and Security Engineers. REN-ISAC serves as the R&E sector's trusted partner among the formal US ISAC community and in commercial, governmental, and private security information sharing relationships.
