Analyst Programmer - PA2IT
Description and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development and deployment of applications and tools utilized in technology support across the university. These tools include the enterprise service desk application (Footprints), a chat and remote control tool, and self-service interfaces.
Provides programming, system administration and support for production environments including on-call responsibilities; and participates in project planning, design, development, testing, and implementation of services. Prepares documentation and other materials for the team and customers; and acts as a technical liaison between UITS and other university departments.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related discipline and one year of experience in systems analysis or programming.
Combinations of related experience and education may be considered.
Experience programming in a UNIX environment; fluency with Perl and/or PHP languages; and experience with one or more relational databases. Ability to translate user needs into effective processes and workflows; demonstrated ability to operate effectively and independently within a complex and dynamic work environment; and a strong customer service attitude with effective communication and presentation skills.
Preferred: UNIX system administration skills.
Note: Occasional travel to other campuses is required.
