Assistant Designer - Telecommunications - PA2FC
Description and Responsibilities:
Develop designs and estimates, prepare prints and establish specifications for telecommunication systems in new construction or remodeling/renovation projects. Working with a Telecommunications Design Engineer, position will prepare CAD drawings to be issued to contractors for the installation of telecommunication systems for a total campus rewire project on both IU-Bloomington and IUPUI campuses. Prepare construction documents. Prepare preliminary and final cost estimates. Investigate user needs. Investigate existing conditions. Research Indiana codes and standards. Examine construction by contractors and IUB craft workers. Attend seminars/training
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in architectural or engineering drafting plus two years building system design/drafting. Combinations of related education & experience may be considered. Must
possess valid driver's license. Must understand CAD standards, and be proficient in AutoCAD. Must be fluent in written and spoken
English.
