Director of Accounting, Compliance, and Project Operations - PA3AD

Description and Responsibilities:

Serves as the accountant for the Kuali Foundation; responsible for compliance including tax, regulatory changes, and official reporting; and responsible for project operations for designated Kuali projects.

Qualifications:
REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, information systems, or a related field and four years of accounting, finance, tax, or directly-related experience.

Demonstrated strong finance, administrative, organizational, and communication skills; ability to quickly develop proficiency with University, Kuali, and external electronic systems; and experience with Quickbooks, GAAP policies and practices, and cash and accrual reporting.

Understanding of tax, regulatory compliance, internal controls, and good accounting practices; excellent grasp of Google Docs; working in "the cloud;. and proficiency with email list tools, newsfeed technologies, listserv, video-conferencing, etc. Willingness to regularly acquire new skills and quickly learn new computer software/applications; outstanding written and oral communication skills; and excellent communication and negotiating skills are essential, as is the ability to effectively and sensitively interact with a culturally diverse constituency.

An "execution mentality" with strong project management skills and willingness and ability to understand, direct and promote the activities of the organization; and ability to evolve and adapt quickly as members and projects change over time.

Preferred: CPA; experience in the Higher Education sector; and experience with Kuali and/or IT projects.
