Energy Data Management Intern
Project overview:
The intern will gain experience in the practical application of information technology to real-world data problems, including gaining exposure to common information technologies used in gathering data and storage (such as relational databases and scripting languages) and learning about the full lifecycle of software engineering involved in building databases and processes to input, store, retrieve, and analyze energy data.
Description of duties:
- Work with staff in various IU offices to document the availability and source of energy data.
- Define a central database for the collection and storage of energy use data.
- Define a process for retention of summary data and purge/archive of details.
Qualifications:
- Ability to design, implement, and test moderately complex software programs.
- Basic knowledge of Software Engineering.
- Basic knowledge of Web Programming.
- Basic understanding of Relational Databases.
