IT Training Collaborative Learning Intern

Project overview:

This internship will focus on the development and implementation of collaborative learning activities that encourage learners. growth in the ability to apply technology skills gained through instructor-led workshops and other IT Training resources. Through these experiences, learners will work together to explore applications and technologies they are studying. Cooperative activities could involve challenges that require learners to solve problems or create new products. Challenges could involve any topics offered in the IU IT Training program.

Events could be hosted in specially equipped collaborative classrooms, in regular technology classrooms, or in Oncourse and/or other online tools. The ability for participants to share and talk in the environment is essential.

Description of duties:

  • Propose ideas for learning events that involve multiple learners in problem solving opportunities or challenges that build their technology skills using examples drawn from common, everyday situations.
  • Assist with the development of collaborative events, including drafting the problem or challenge statement, developing detailed descriptions of task(s) and preparing any necessary exercise files for the project.
  • Identify the IT-enabled environments which best enable learners to share their approaches with each other.

Qualifications:

The candidate for this internship should be a creative student with strong computer skills especially with multiple topics taught by IU's IT Training program. Experience and/or a research background in teaching, instructional technologies, or collaborative learning is important.
