Title: Support Technician
Reports to: Martha Rapp

We are posting the following part time position reporting to Jim Kippenbrock, Manager of LSP Services, UITS/IUPUI. The position is 20-25 hours weekly with pay based on qualifications. Description & Requirements:

Under general supervision provide technical support services to staff of University Information Technology Services. Duties include setting up desktop computers and printers, software installation, troubleshooting operating system and application software issues, and performing general maintenance on computer equipment. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required skills:High School Diploma or GED Equivalency required; college computer-related courses highly desired. Experience using, teaching others to use, and/or troubleshooting Windows OS. Self-motivated and dependable. Demonstrated excellent customer service skills; able to meet customer request deadlines. Demonstrated problem solving skills. Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to lift 50 lbs required. University student preferred.

Desired skills:Familiarity with the computing and networking environment at IUPUI. Experience using, teaching others to use, and troubleshooting most of the following software: MS Office, Outlook, FireFox, Netscape Communicator, Internet Explorer, Symantec Anti-Virus Experience with installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting PC hardware, software and operating systems
