Multimedia Design & Production Intern
Develop skills in multimedia and online development projects, including media design and production, graphic design, and web programming. UITS Media Design & Production offers quality, creativity and innovation in our services and products for the Indiana University community. These qualities are reflected in the broad range of video, audio, multimedia, and web-based products we create to support instruction, academic initiatives, research, and university functions.
Description of duties:
UITS/Media Design & Production is offering a professional one-semester internship in the areas of web and interactive media development. Internship
duties may include the following:
- Custom Flash® and ActionScript 3.0 development. (IUB and/orIUPUI)
- familiarity with Flash software;
- familiarity with ActionScript 3.0 and/or Javascript programming languages;
- understanding of arrays and functions within ActionScript/javascript;
- ability to create highly interactive content;
- Standards-compliant web design and development. (IUPUI)
- Interactive programs and media for Web, CD-ROM, DVD and desktop delivery.
- Streaming media (video, audio, images).
- Custom web application programming. (IUPUI)
- Database-driven Web applications (PHP, MySQL, etc.). (IUPUI)
Qualifications- (including academic background and any work experience):
The internship would be ideal for a junior or senior with coursework or experience in creating podcasts, web pages, video, or other multimedia
presentations, but is open to anyone with good computing skills who is creative, well organized, and has a genuine interest in multimedia production,
podcasts, wikis, blogs and related technologies. Interest in online delivery of training and communication is required. Basic knowledge of multimedia
applications and the ability to create, edit, and prepare digital audio files is strongly preferred.
Due to our current project portfolio, candidates with ActionScript 2.0 and 3.0 programming expertise are preferred.
