Network Operation Center Service Desk Technician - TE06 (Four positions available)
Description and Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, this position will provide support to the Global Research Network Operations Center (GRNOC) daily shift operations with primary responsibility requiring high level network monitoring, problem analysis, tracking, and resolution, with strong customer service skills. Service Desk technician will assist with diagnosing problems and taking appropriate corrective action for networks including IU campus/statewide networks, and other IU supported national and international research and education networks. The job includes rotating shift work, including nights and weekends.
Required: High School diploma, some college is desired, plus at least 1 year of equivalent work experience in the areas of computer and network operations, customer support, telecommunications or related field is desired.
Knowledge of current operating systems and desktop software required. Demonstrated knowledge of local and wide area networks is highly desired. Excellent oral and written communication skills required, as are demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
