Principal Instructional Technologist - PA4IT (Posted for university employees only)
Description and Responsibilities:
Acts as team leader with responsibility for providing oversight and coordination of the activities of instructional technology consultants in the regional campus teaching centers; create and maintain partnerships with regional campus teaching directors. Lead learning technology division initiatives across teaching centers system wide. Work in coordination with team leaders and directors of Indiana University centers for teaching and learning as well as with members of the teaching and learning community involved in course management, collaboration technologies, and ePortfolio and other systems to establish service and functional priorities, strategies, quality assurance methods, and best practices.
Act as the collaboration technologies concierge, providing special event management for academic and administrative events in which diverse meeting participants are both within and outside the IU network, and events that require an unusual or highly sophisticated blend of video and collaboration tools; plans, organizes, and implements all special event services. Provide leadership in the design and development of collaboration services to faculty, instructors, and administrative staff; develops project planning and service implementation for all UITS supported collaboration technologies.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Informatics, Human-Centered computing, or related field. Combinations of related education and experience will be considered.
Master's degree or higher is desirable. Five years of instructional and collaborative technology or related experience, working with faculty, conducting workshops and training,
creating instructional, training or informational materials, etc is required.
Additionally, candidates must have excellent team leading skills, including strong team building, problem solving, decision making, motivation, and communication skills. Demonstrated abilities in instructional and collaborative technology leadership and development. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills necessary for working collaboratively within a diverse University environment. This includes working with community source partners consisting of large research institutions, large and small private institutions, and small community colleges. Experience with higher education open source communities and technologies a plus.
