Programmer Analyst - PA2IT
Description and Responsibilities:
Conducts programming tasks for Faculty Annual Reporting and other HRMS projects under general supervision. Works on programming tasks on own with general direction, but requires additional supervision and instruction in analysis phases of systems development. Analyzes and corrects problems with existing systems; codes, tests, and documents programs; and creates documentation. Works directly with the vendors and others to report and repair problems; tests, implements, and supports overall systems; and works as part of a team demonstrating a high degree of self-initiative and commitment to expand skills and expertise.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in computer science, business systems, or related discipline and one or more years of experience in information technology software application
development with increasing complexity and scope.
Combination of related education and experience may be considered.
Fluent in jQuery, JavaScript, HTML 4&5, CSS 2&3, XHTML, AJAX; and knowledge of WC3 standards. Experience with the following: J2EE, JSP; XML; Spring IOC & AOP.; common design patterns; one or more RDBMS; enterprise-scale application development; Kuali Rice; SOA; J2EE development tools and frameworks including Eclipse, Struts, ORM, Ant, JUnit, log4j, and Quartz; Unix; Apache Tomcat; Oracle; and MySQL.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, problem solving skills and a customer service attitude including willingness to work in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred: Experience in creating and supporting applications in a UNIX environment.
