Senior Systems Analyst - PA3IT
Description and Responsibilities:
The Senior Systems Analyst provides technical leadership and perform highly complex tasks including the design, development, implementation and support of new and existing software systems. In particular, this includes supporting the HubZero based Indiana Clinical & Translational Sciences Institute(CTSI) Hub informatics platform, and extending the platform to support new capabilities. Design, develop, and deploy new Hub software applications that extend the functionality of existing software. Provide tactical leadership to junior programmers. Improve development and release processes and documentation with the overall goal of improving software reliability, usability, and maintainability, leading to customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities include: Develop and extend the Indiana CTSI Hub software platform, provide high-level technical expertise and planning; gather requirements from CTSI Hub users and re-design and extend the Hub to meet those needs; coordinate support for applications associated with the Hub, such as INResearch.org, CTSA2Community, and the Grants Management System; provide technical direction for new CTSI projects; organize resources, and guide junior programmers in maintaining existing Hub applications; maintain a high level of technical knowledge and software application development; research, evaluate, and guide implementation of new and emerging technologies.
Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor.s degree from an accredited institution in computer science, information technology or related discipline required, plus at least 2 years of professional
computing experience developing enterprise level software. A combination of education and experience may be considered in a 2:1 ratio.
In-depth knowledge of software systems analysis, database design, and programming. Able to operate effectively in a complex and dynamic environment; must have knowledge and practical experience with application development methodologies; excellent analytical and communication skills, a strong customer service orientation and enthusiasm for the application of new technologies across a broad range of disciplines; the ability to interact effectively with staff and faculty in extended consultations using practical project management practices. Must be able to work independently with people with varying levels of technical knowledge.
