Senior Systems Programmer/Developer-SWAMP - PA3IT
Description and Responsibilities:
Responsible for development, deployment, and maintenance of the Software Assurance Marketplace (*SWAMP) infrastructure services (monitoring, reporting, visualization, etc). Responsible for administrative tasks and for development, testing, deployment, and support of services targeted for SWAMP build and test systems.
Performs advanced technical tasks and project direction for SWAMP services; coordinates deployment; provides administration, integration, and testing; and ensures tight system security. Prepares system services, project, and service documentation; participates in the evaluation and technical assessment of software to ensure that IU keeps pace with emerging technologies as it pertains to cybersecurity monitoring services; troubleshoots problems reported by SWAMP collaborators at all levels of services utilized by SWAMP; and reports Operations Metrics to SWAMP users, collaborators, and PIs.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in computer science or other related technology area, four years experience in the development of complex software systems
including work in Perl and PHP, and two years of experience designing and coding information and monitoring software systems and maintenance and upkeep of
critical compute services.
Experience in web application development; experience with relational database technology; experience with interfacing with relational databases in Perl; and experience with XML and XML-related technologies including XML/RPC and Web Services. Excellent understanding of wide area computer networking; excellent oral and written communication skills; experience working in a Unix/Linux environment; and good interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team.
Other: *The SWAMP project is collaborative project with University of Wisconsin Madison that provides security scanning, testing, and building services to the DHS.
