Systems Administrator/Analyst - PA2IT
Description and Responsibilities:
Provides technical expertise for enterprise applications including performing software installations and OS configurations, development tasks, systems analysis and testing, software monitoring, and programming automation scripts. Develops IU custom integration code; provides technical programming support for HRMS and SIS developers; migrates changes to production environments; and refreshes test environments from production. Creates documentation; works directly with the vendors and other UITS units to report and repair problems; acquires fixes; and supports the overall system.
Works as part of a team demonstrating a high degree of self-initiative and commitment to expand skills and expertise; works with enterprise applications deployed in the J2EE/LINUX/Oracle infrastructure environment; and works with the Windows Microsoft SQL server and IIS environment.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in computer science, business systems, or related technical discipline and one year of
experience in information technology environment with increasing complexity and scope.
Combination of related education and experience may be considered.
Understanding of how to deploy and support enterprise applications on Linux/ UNIX and Windows operating systems; ability to support various web containers such as Apache, Tomcat, WebLogic, JBOSS, and IIS; and one or more years of experience with relational database technologies such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or MySQL. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent written and verbal communication; a positive customer service attitude; willingness to learn new technologies; and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred: Experience with SQR, JAVA, COBOL, Perl, Visual Basic, .NET, or Windows batch programming technologies helpful.
