Systems Analyst Programmer, Lifetime Engagement - PA3IT
Description and Responsibilities:
Working virtually independently, lead the design and develop of applications within the Lifetime Engagement initiative. Primary focus will be on tasks related to the Enterprise Advancement System development and deployment. Collaborate with partners, analysts and teams within the central computing organization as well as in the IU Foundation and IU Alumni Association departments. Develop standards and best practices using web development technologies and mentors developers. With developers and functional team members, gather, document and validate information systems requirements for complex business processes or technical challenges. Establish estimates and design application solutions. Develop, test and deploy complex programs; assist with management of application releases; and develop interfaces between Enterprise Advancement and Constituent Relationship Management systems and other applications. Additional responsibilities may include designing programmatic solutions to enhance system functionality to users and stakeholders. Tune delivered processes for improved performance, troubleshooting system problems, and designing improvements to system components to remove system problems and errors.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in an IT related field (a combination of education and experience may be considered) plus three years of professional experience developing enterprise level software required.
Position requires experience in creating and supporting applications in a Windows/Unix/Web environment, scripting languages, SQL, and relational database structures. Applicant must have experience in systems development work with a solid concentration in Windows/Unix/Web development. The applicant should have an excellent understanding and experience developing enterprise level applications using a variety of programming languages and frameworks with a preference for .NET (C# or VB.NET), Java, JavaScript/jQuery, C, C++, etc. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or 2008, TSQL syntax, SSIS packages, stored procedures, SQL Server Reporting Services, and modern Web technologies (HTML5/CSS/JavaScript, etc) are essential. Experience with Microsoft SharePoint is highly desirable. The individual must be able to work well with little supervision, and have good communication and analytical skills. A strong customer orientation and enthusiasm for new technologies are also required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Ability to work with a variety of people with varying levels of knowledge required. Familiarity with IU systems and platforms is a plus. Ability to assume project leadership for information system projects and work at the highest level of technical complexity is required. High level of accuracy, dependability and responsibility is essential.
