Technology Center Consulting H.R Coordinator - PAO2AD

Description and Responsibilities:

Responsible for interviewing, hiring, orienting, and scheduling Technology Center Computing consultants, maintaining a staffing goal of 115 consultants across 50 computer labs on the Bloomington campus. On a consistent basis throughout the year, review and rank consultant applications to provide a waitlist and ready pool of job candidates to fill openings.

As part of the interviewing process, develop pertinent questions and quizzes to for the purpose of building an excellent pool of candidates. Process background checks and employment paperwork as well as manage security issues such as ID badges and access.

Anticipate and plan new consultant orientations at the beginning of each new semester and as needed depending on staffing needs. Provide leadership and supervision to consultant supervisors who participate in the consultant orientation sessions.

Monitor & coordinate new consultant training progress through OnCourse for all new consultants. Update and maintain handbook and internal/external documentation and create monthly newsletter. Build consultant schedules four times per year and manage holiday and break schedules. Coordinate with departmental liaisons to meet their staffing needs for labs in their buildings.

Qualifications:

REQUIRED: Bachelor Degree. Directly related and progressively more responsible work experience may be substituted at a 2:1 ratio. At least one year of human resources experience including one to two years managing and supervising employees. Working knowledge of Macintosh and Windows operating systems and technical expertise in the Microsoft Office Suite applications required. Familiarity with web based applications and HTML required. A strong user support background and effective interpersonal skills required. Excellent communication, public speaking, listening, and contending skills; ability to work effectively as part of a team; strong analytical skills for evaluating and interpreting hiring and staffing trends; and good judgment skills required.

Ability to handle multiple priorities and constantly changing demands is needed. Able to work effectively in a multitasking environment is required.
