Telecommunications Design Engineer - PA3FC
Description and Responsibilities:
The Telecommunications Design Engineer will be responsible for the total project management of the telecommunications rewire project for both the IU-Bloomington and IUPUI campuses. There are approximately 65,000 data jacks on the both campuses.
Some of the key duties and responsibilities are: Develop and design construction documents for rewire project; perform field investigations to determine design parameters; prepare preliminary and final cost opinions; meet with facility representatives; assist with project implementation through field observations.
Qualifications:
Required: Bachelors' degree from an accredited institution in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, plus 5 years experience in telecommunications system
design.
Candidate must have a valid Indiana driver's license.
Knowledge and application of all related electrical and telecommunications codes. Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
Preferred: Knowledge and application of all IU standards governing telecommunication and CAD standards. Professional engineer license.
