User Support Specialist Knowledge Management Team - PA2IT
Description and Responsibilities:
Manages support material for users of information technology at IU by collaborating with subject matter experts across all campuses to identify, collect, create, and maintain content about computing systems, applications, and information technology services used for teaching, learning, research, and administration. Helps to develop online support services, such as the IU Knowledge Base and the UITS Services and Support; Works under general supervision from plans developed by manager and senior staff; and provides technical and professional leadership for hourly consulting staff and editing staff.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED: Bachelor's Degree and prior experience in writing and editing.
Combination of related education and experience may be considered.
Knowledge and skill in writing, technical editing, structured writing, and/or online support delivery; familiarity with IU computing systems, networking, and applications; knowledge of UITS support structures, specifically the IU Knowledge Base; and excellent problem-solving abilities and oral and written communication skills. Strong customer service attitude; Ability to work under pressure on a number of different projects simultaneously; and high commitment to team approach to work efforts.
Preferred: One to two years experience in writing, technical editing, structured writing or online information technology support delivery and experience publishing on the web and familiarity with markup languages.
