Campus UniCom Implementation Project Intern

Project overview:

The intern will work with the campus Telecommunications and Networking team to install a fall 2011 UniCom pilot. During the UniCom pilot, the intern will learn and prepare convergence technologies that will touch everyone on campus during spring 2012 (Calendars, instant messaging, group chat, presence, VoIP, email, voicemail, RSS feeds, video web conferencing, desktop sharing, mobility, Microsoft application integration (Sharepoint, Office, Outlook)

Description of duties:

  • Help prepare convergence inventory and support documentation.
  • Learn, install, and diagnose convergence software and hardware technologies.
  • Learn and apply technical customer support techniques for project management purposes.
  • Assist telecommunication technician as necessary during UniCom convergence project.

Qualifications:

  • Good attention to detail.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Junior or senior majoring in Computer Information Systems or other technical field.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to bend and lift up to 25 pounds.
