Web Designer/Web Developer - PA3IT
Description and Responsibilities:
Provide project leadership and expertise in the design and development of campus web sites in the ongoing implementation of the Cascade Server web content management system for the IU Northwest campus web space. Help content managers to translate and transfer existing web content into the system to best take advantage of features of Cascade Server. Design and conduct needs assessments, conduct analyses, and produce Needs Analysis reports. Collaborate with IU Northwest web production team, the campus Office of Marketing and Communications and campus web customers in the development of websites to achieve campus objectives. Create website designs and code (program) these designs into functional, content-managed websites, designing and implementing site architecture and developing rich media content. Work directly with the Web Manager to ensure compliance on technical issues, and standardization of coding and design. Provide one-on-one consultation and/or group training to campus content managers. Must be process oriented, deadline driven and work well in a team environment. Must display strong customer service orientation.
Qualifications:
BA/BS in computer science, web design, graphic design or related field. Two to three years professional experience in web design in a production environment, preferably in a university or college environment. IT project
management experience.
Knowledge of enterprise level content management systems; Cascade Server expereince a plus. JavaScript, (X)HTML and CSS. PHP or Coldfusion a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. In depth knowledge of developing websites that meet ADA compliance requirements. Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (CSS5 or CSS6), MS Office. IT Project management skills.
