Actions Taken in Response to 1996 Survey
UCS takes survey responses seriously. Some of the actions we have taken
in the last year as a result of the 1996 user survey include the following:
- UCS has a new web page (
http://www.indiana.edu/~ucs
) that was created in response to requests for better information about
UCS. You will find the unit, aggregate costs, and perceived quality of
our services displayed on one of these pages.
- Base on very high satisfaction with UCS Help Online and the UCS Knowledge
Base, UCS has placed greater emphasis on publicizing these online
computing tools.
- UCS is taking a series of steps to enhance the UCS Public Computing
Facilities, including putting the equipment in all the clusters on a
three-year upgrade cycle.
- In order to help the staff and offices that run Indiana University,
the IU Decision Support Services environmment has been expanded and
enhanced.
- Staffing at the UCS
Center for Statistical and Mathematical Computing was increased in
order to better meet research needs.
