Actions Taken in Response to 1997 Survey
UITS takes survey responses seriously. Some of the actions we have taken
in the last year as a result of the 1997 user survey include the following:
- Redefining the Student Technology Centers (formerly known as Public
Computing Facilities) into one of two categories: 1) centers in which
instructional use takes priority during the day, and 2) centers in which
student use takes priority. Next fall, students will know that those centers
designated as "student-use priority" will not be closed off for classroom use.
- Upgrading the Business 101 and SPEA 151 Student Technology Centers.
- Working with academic departments to ensure that the Student Technology
Centers meet the specialized, discipline-specific needs of graduate students.
- Improving the capacity and quality of service provided through our modem pool.
