Actions Taken in Response to 1998 Survey
UITS takes survey responses seriously. Some of the actions we have taken
in the last year as a result of the 1998 user survey include the following:
- More modems are available for remote access.
- There are more Student Technology Centers and a number of labs have been
designated for student use only.
- We have additional capacity on major research systems, including a major
upgrade of the IBM SP and the deployment of a new faster general purpose central
computer (Steel).
- The Support Center phone system has been streamlined.
