Actions Taken in Response to 1998 Survey
UITS takes survey responses seriously. Some of the actions we have taken
in the last year as a result of the 1998 user survey include the following:
- A new 24-Hour Student Technology Center was opened in BS3005, providing IUPUI
students 24x7 access to networked computing tools and consultant support.
- One hundred new modems were added to the campus modem pool, bringing the
number available to 506.
- Resources for research computing were strengthened through coordinated
acquisition of software site licenses and availability of the IBM RS/6000 SP,
with its supercomputer power.
- Training opportunities were enhanced on campus through the UITS Education
Program and its STEPS (Student Technology Education Programs) and PROSTEPS
(Professionals' Technology Education Programs) classes.
