Actions Taken in Response to 1999 Survey

UITS takes survey responses seriously. Some of the actions we have taken in the last year as a result of the 1999 user survey include the following:

More modems availability for remote access; many fewer busy signals during 1999.
Additional Student Technology Centers.
Additional capacity on major research systems; the IBM SP is back in the "Top 100" list in terms of computing speed and power.
Implementation of massive storage system for research needs.
Reengineering of the IUB e-mail system. This system will offer a Web client (currently under testing), will be more reliable and responsive, and will handle attachments seamlessly.
