2009 IU Campus Ministry Golf Scramble: Sunday, September 13

Support University Lutheran's campus ministry to Indiana University by getting a foursome together to compete in this annual best ball golf scramble at Stone Crest Golf Course, just south of the Monroe/Lawrence County line west of Ind. 37. $75 per person fee covers greens, cart, and a light meal in the clubhouse afterward ($46 is tax-deductable donation). The winning foursome will have their names engraved on a travelling plaque. Registration begins at 1:00 pm, shotgun start at 2:00. You can e-mail us to register an individual (indicate your level of play to be placed in a foursome) or group. Proceeds will go toward funding students to participate in our spring break mission trip, and for new outdoor signs.

 

Canoe Trip down Sugar Creek through Turkey Run, Shades State Park September 19th

Join us for a leisurely trip down Sugar Creek through canyons that will make you say, "I can't believe I'm in Indiana," and under four historic covered bridges! To register sign up on the fellowship hall bulletin board or e-mail us. Cost of $15 covers, canoe, equipment, and transportation. We'll leave U.Lu at 7:30 am, and return by 7:00 pm. Bring a change of clothes, lunch, and $ for meal on the way home.

 

Faith Church Picnic, Sunday September 20th at Karst Farm Park

Each year our campus ministry supporters at Faith Lutheran Church invite us to their great picnic at Karst Farm Park (just beyond the Super Wal-Mart on the west side of Bloomington). Enjoy volleyball, softball, frisbee golf beginning at 3:00. then at 5:00, two rows of picnic tables going the length of the shelter house filled with every conceivable picnic entree, salad or dessert (we college students just can't come up with this deliciously decadent stuff on our own)! Sign up on the fellowship hall bulletin board, or e-mail us! For those who want a ride, we will meet at U.Lu at 3:00 pm. Bring any sports equipment you'd like to use!

 

Join the U.Lu Team for Hoosiers Outrun Cancer, September 26th

Hoosiers Outrun Cancer is an annual 5k run/walk benefiting Bloomington Hospital's Olcott Center for Cancer Education. You can represent U.Lu as a runner or walker! There is even a 1 mile kids run (under 12), and a 1 mile family walk. Registration is $25 per participant, and you can give an additional donation if you'd like! You may fill out a form at U.Lu or go to Hoosiers Outrun Cancer website and indicate that you'd like to participate under the University Lutheran Church - LSF team when you register. The race begins and ends at IU's Memorial Stadium. There is an award for the team with the most people!

 

Christ On Campus Weekend

This annual event is held in early February, and has become a highlight of the second semester. Each year students from IU, other Midwestern campuses, and the Bloomington community come together for a night and a day of top-notch presentations from seminary professors or well-known Christian authors.
